Sustainability is front and centre in this project, aligning with Beulah’s commitment to creating transformational and future-ready spaces. The fossil fuel-free design will incorporate rooftop solar, rainwater harvesting, and renewable materials wherever possible, along with passive design principles. To promote green transport options, the development will offer car share vehicles, EV charging stations, and a bike hub with 49 bicycle spaces and an on-site repair station, encouraging sustainable lifestyle choices for residents. Additionally, a shared resident zone is currently earmarked for a serene fern garden, creating a tranquil green space that connects residents with nature amidst the urban environment.
Following biophilic principles, the design maximises natural light, fresh air, and green spaces to enhance wellbeing. The architecture also pays tribute to Fitzroy’s heritage, with a three-storey brick podium adorned with lush greenery, creating a harmonious streetscape that complements the Victorian and Edwardian terraces nearby. The upper levels are set back to minimise the building’s visual impact within the neighbourhood, while terraces allow residents to enjoy sweeping views over Fitzroy’s vibrant landscape.
