BETA By STH BNK is introducing a series of hands-on workshops in which you will make, create and learn at the Future From Waste Lab at Hanover House (158 City Rd, Southbank VIC).

Help divert fashion waste from ending up in landfill and walk away with new knowledge and your own bespoke creation.

FUTURE FROM WASTE LAB ‘STITCH’ WORKSHOP
21 July 2022, 6pm – 8pm

The Future From Waste Lab opens its doors for a group ‘stitch’ session. Hand crafters are invited into the space to work on their own individual projects, share knowledge, and open a conversation about slow fashion, waste and what the future looks like.

FUTURE FROM WASTE LAB ‘REpairS’ WORKSHOP
28 July 2022, 6pm – 8pm

In this casual workshop, the Future From Waste Lab team will demonstrate the basics of home repairing, teaching you key techniques for extending the life of your garments. Participants will learn how to repair a split seam, replace a missing button or patchwork over a tear or hole. You may bring in a piece of your own clothing to repair, or practice using waste materials supplied by the Lab.

Weaving workshop
30 July 2022, 10am – 4pm

Do you want to help divert fashion waste from ending up in landfill while making something beautiful for your home?

Join us for the create your own ‘SCRAP-ESTRY’ Weaving Workshop with the team from Future From Waste Lab! Explore deconstructing clothing and textiles to create yarn while learning the essentials in tapestry weaving. Take home a beautiful woven wall hanging formed exclusively using clothing and textiles that would otherwise go to landfill.
